childhood memories – recuerdos de infancia

Designed , hooked, felted and painted by Gun-Marie Nalsen 2020

Mix media: rug hooking, needle felting, watercolor painting on linen

12″ x 15″

This piece was made with my childhood memories in my home country Venezuela. My father was absolutely “beach-holic”, every Saturday and Sundays we went to the beach near Caracas, not far away. It was fun to make the braids of one of the girls, the pony tail of the other, my father’s hat and my mother in the recliner reading a magazine. Happy memories!!! This piece is a mix media, because it as mainly rug hooking, but also felting. The sky is painted with watercolors, what a joy!
