sunset at the beach

Designed and felted by Gun-Marie Nalsen 2023

Needle felting

Hand dyed wool roving, wool yarns on felted wool

Framed

10″ x 10″

As usual I love to felt seashores, sunsets as well. It is so much fun to play with the colors!

As I grew up in the tropics the sea is an important theme in my work.

On June 2, 2023, I was surprised by been given an Honorable Mention and the R.E.D. Exhibition of the

Art & Cultural Council of Bucks County, and also more than that , my piece was sold that night!

It feel good to be recognized. Thank you to Bucksarts!

Wool yarn, hand dyed wool yarn, sari silk, hand dyed wool roving on a cotton warp

It was long time since a wove so it was so much fun to work with the different kind of materials.

I used my memories to weave. It is in the inland of my country Venezuela, when the BUCARE flowers,

from January to May, so the bright colors shows in the mountains. It was so much fun to make it!

30 days of Inspiration = Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County

My watercolor, “SEA”, was chosen by the bucksarts.org to match the poem “Atop a Cornish Tor”, very proud

of it, as it is the first of my paintings being published.

Needle felting

Hand dyed wool roving on wool fabric

Framed

I found this small frame and decided it was perfect for a needle felted sunset! It is small but contains the “air” of the sea at a sunset. Love it!
