The body and the dog are rug hooked in wool fabric. Diego’s face is felted, with wool roving, it was interesting to make the expression well,I am happy with it!
I made this rug for Diego, my grandson, as a Christmas gift. It was so much fun to make it, trying to do it as accurate as possible!

I made this in a Donna Hrkman class at the Weavers Guild. I used a painting that my daughter Maria Teresa made from a picture of me when I was one year old. It was a difficult task, but I think that I recreated well the scene. The name EL MORROCOY, means the turtle, that is the title that she gave to the piece. I am pleased with it!
