Painting in negative space by Gun-Marie Nalsen 2024
Using acrylics, which is not my favorite medium, I struggled with this negative space painting. One has to think “backwards”, which is not so easy for me. I think that it came out quite good. That exercise I did with my daughter Anne-Marie. It was fun! I also did the two ones that are under, but with watercolors, it is a bit different because the colors are milder.

Watercolors, gouaches, watercolor pencils in my SketchBook
This trip took 12 hours from L.A. to S.F. It was a beautiful day and I saw the seashore almost all the
way, wonderful experience! After I went to Pleasanton, after to a racing park , where we met a musician
who was writing music, very interesting. Some paintings from the S.F. Golden Gate, which is so big
and beautiful.

Punched and felted by Gun-Marie Nalsen – Designed by Anne-Marie Herrera 2024
Punch needle and needle felting
Hand dyed cotton threads and hand dyed wool roving on linen fabric
Framed 9″ x 9″
6″ bamboo hoop
This is a design of my daughter Anne-Marie, which I enhanced with more colors.
It was fun to make it in a round hoop. Hope you like it!
