It is fun to paint seriously but also to make collages that you don’t know what is going to happen there!

Acrylics inks and watercolors
9″ x 12″
This was fun to make. I just started to pour acrylics inks on watercolor paper and let them have
its way. After it dried, I turned the piece all over, trying to see something. Well there she was,
the lady painting. She has a long dress, the furniture is very comfortable , good colors and a white
cat lies on her side. She is a happy girl! This technique is called Pareidolia, that is the tendency to perceive a specific, often meaningful image in a random or ambiguous visual pattern.
It was so much fun to do this!

Designed , hooked and felted by Gun-Marie Nalsen 2023
Rug hooking and needle felting
Hand dyed wool strips, hand dyed wool yarn on linen
Hand dyed wool roving on wool fabric
Each of the nine pieces mounted on a 4″x 4″ canvas
Framed
14″ x 14″
This piece started as small rug hooked and felted pieces, but I decided to mount each one on a
4″x 4″x 1″ canvas, and then I framed it all together and made a big one. I played with bright colors and forms, and the result looks like a kaledoiscope!
