traces of red

Designed and woven by Gun-Marie Nalsen 2021

Tapestry

Hand dyed wool yarn, hand dyed sari silk yarn and hand dyed wool roving on a cotton warp

Mounted on an vintage stick

10″ x 13″

When I start to weave in my small tapestry loom, I don’t know what is going to happen. I choose the colors I want to use and go. My hands are the ones that move the wool. The red strip of wool roving gives it more character. I like the result. It is a bit square, but it came out like that! I am happy with it.
