This piece was made after a watercolor my father, Tom Nalsen, made in 1932. It was so much fun to make it, it came out with brighter colors but I like it! It is part of my heritage!

My beloved mountain in Caracas, El Avila, Waraira Repano, the indigenous name, that gives its majestic look to our capital. You always know where the North is….where the Avila is! I really miss its looks! I have done several, and all are different, but it is the same Avila!

This was a very special experience. I saw a picture of some mushrooms in strange colors, and it occurred to me I could something similar. I think it came out good. My son told me that they looked as those spsychedelic mushrooms, so that is why the name. Love them!
