Rug hooking
Hand dyed wool, sari silk, cotton threads
22″ x 26″
I made this rug for my grandaughter Zoe, who graduated from High School, and went to Columbus Art and Design College to complete her artistic education.
The basic design of this rug, the girl on the bird is my daughter’s Anne-Marie, her mother. I created the tree with its foliage and roots, envolving the girl, Zoe, meaning that we the family are always there for her. The secret message , “Zoe vuela alto” is on the back of the piece, so you don’t see it on the front.
A blog full of humorous and poignant observations.
